Dear Children’s Future Family,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Children’s Future, I am excited to announce the appointment of Sarah Hidey as the Interim Executive Director of Children’s Future beginning March 22, 2016. This appointment is a result of current Children’s Future Executive Director, Melissa Theesen, accepting a position as the Managing Director of ECDC African Community Center of Denver, a refugee resettlement agency that annually welcomes and resettles more than 500 refugees from around the world. Melissa formerly worked for ECDC African Community Center in direct services and program management positions.

Melissa has been an integral part of our team for nearly three years as the Executive Director, Director of Operations, a donor, and a board member. Melissa has a deep commitment to the organization and has pledged her ongoing support in a variety of meaningful ways. Melissa has committed to working closely with Sarah Hidey through this transition.

“This was an extremely difficult decision as I have loved every second of working with Children’s Future. The students, staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, donors, corporate funders, foundations, and all stakeholders are incredible. Children’s Future is a compassionate, forward-thinking organization that has endless potential. I plan to remain a friend of Children’s Future for years to come.”
-Melissa

I will do everything I can to empower our US and Cambodia teams during this transition.”

Sarah Hidey joined Children’s Future in 2014 as a board member and strong supporter. Sarah’s experience is heavily focused on nonprofit consulting, fundraising, management, and social enterprise development.
