Project Description

As a first-generation Cambodian American raised in the restaurant business, I came to develop a fascination with the sheer diversity of individuals and a strong connection to my family’s culture and traditions. From a young age, I was entranced by incredible stories my relatives would relay to me, but it was not until I was older that I had a true grasp of the sacrifice and tragedies they endured. Following my passion for working with children, I am a current student pursuing a degree in social work and support students with disabilities as a paraprofessional through the Cherry Creek School District.
Wanting to make an impact and having a close tie to my family’s history, I became involved with Children’s Future in 2016. Starting as an event volunteer, then as an event committee member, I now serve as the chairperson of the fundraising committee. CFI has created an amazing program that recognizes the needs of each community and strives to provide support for each of its members to reach their goals of providing for their future. I am truly honored to be a part of an organization that prioritizes a child’s right to learn, grow, and explore this world.
