Meet Vanna, a Social Worker at Children’s Future International (CFI). Vanna was a former CFI student. When she was younger, she received supplementary education support from CFI.
After graduating from high school in 2015, Vanna started her university degree as a Marketing major through a scholarship provided by CFI. At the same time, she also interned at CFI on the Social Work team.
In 2019, Vanna graduated from university and applied to work as a full-time Social Worker at CFI.
As a new social worker, Vanna’s work is to respond to case management, visit families regularly, record the data into the online case management system OSCaR, respond to cases as directed by the social work manager, coordinate and report with local authorities and NGO partners, and anything else needed to ensure children are safe, healthy and thriving.
Vanna also supports the team in any way possible, like helping the team prepare for workshops and training and supporting the wider CFI teams as needed.
For all of her fantastic work, Vanna also faces some challenges where she is learning to prioritize work to keep everyone safe and happy – including her!
“Sometimes I have a lot of work come at once, and I can’t focus on getting it done because it is all over my head. I don’t know what to do first. But after the support from the team, I know what the priority work that has to get done first is. ” Vanna says.
She has a passion for whatever she does. She loves to support families in the community to find a better way to improve their family situation, to keep the children in school, and to ensure the children are safe and healthy and the family has what they need.
“I’m so glad to be a part of the CFI social work team, and I want to say thank you to the team who always encourages me and shares their experiences to help me improve my skill. I’ve learned a lot from them. ” Vanna says.
