Education Team

Due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, the world has shut down. People were told to stay home, the airport was shut and schools were closed.

In Cambodia, The Government has decided to close all schools including public schools, private schools, and NGO schools. Students at public school have to learn through online platforms, but many don’t because they can’t afford to access the technology, so they may forget most of the lessons.

So the CFI school team decided to choose a way that we still are able to provide education to the students, this is by calling to the family and students every week. When we call we focus on three important things.

First, we ask about their health, we want to make sure that they are healthy and we mention that CFI is still open for help if they have any concern about their health.

Second, we ask about their safety regarding COVID-19, what they are doing in their daily activities to make sure they are safe and we share with them about how to prevent themselves from COVID-19 by washing their hands more often, keeping safe distance two meters from each other, don’t touch your mouth, nose, and eyes, eat well-cooked food and stay home if you don’t have to go out.

Third, is the main purpose of the call. We review with the student where they are at with their lessons and we provide more tasks for the students to do for the next week. Parents really appreciate what we are doing with their children during this period and have thanked us for staying in contact with their children.

CFI will try our best to keep children’s safe, healthy, and educated even if they are at home. We can’t do any of this without your support, so help us help them. Thank you!
