Duke of Edinburgh International Award (DofE) is a program that helps young people experience new things, has fun with friends, and have the opportunity to discover new interests and talents. It’s also a tool to develop essential skills for life and work.

Through the DofE program, young people have fun, make friends, improve their self-esteem, and build confidence. They gain essential skills and attributes for work and life such as resilience, problem-solving, team-working, communication, and drive, enhancing CVs, and university and job applications.

Recently, we had a new group of Bronze Award participants who completed their third activity and went on to undertake an Adventurous Journey to complete the last activities in order to earn the Bronze Award Medal.

This is Hey, he is one of the Bronze level participants. He would like to share his experience of joining the DofE Award.

“Firstly, I want to say this is one of the most exciting programs I’ve done! Through the three main activities of this award, I’ve learned a lot by disciplining myself to do it every day, get it done, and find a new way to learn those skills. It helps me with my health and makes a lot of new friends. ”

“The most exciting experience was going on an Adventurous Journey. I love the concept of letting participants live on their own for a night to build confidence and be brave. I learned how to communicate well with the team, how to use maps, and help each other in the team. ”

After these young people completed the Bronze levels, they are now starting the next level of the award which is Silver. We can’t wait to see what new things and experiences these young people gain from the Silver level.
